瑪莉卡·康斯坦提諾 是一位曾在菲律賓國內外諸多重要展覽展出的藝術家。作為她藝術實踐的延伸,她也從事獨立策展與研究工作。她同時是一名作家,為許多在全球各地發行的出版物撰稿。因為早年受到藝術的薰陶,以及個人對創作過程的無限迷戀,她先是在菲律賓大學建築學院完成了建築學位;隨後又在菲律賓大學的美術學院深造,期間主修藝術史。

她的創作聚焦在圖案、層理、質地和材料上,以及這些元素與歷史、記憶和文化間的交集。康斯坦提諾總是力圖在藝術思想的、概念的、實驗性的面向上,與生活的大方向上取得平衡;這也是推進她藝術事業的重要動力。

2017年,康斯坦提諾獲選為英國愛丁堡大學國際文化關係研究所的全球文化研究員。同年,她受到馬尼拉英國文化協會的贊助,參加了英國倫敦國王學院的文化領導學程。除了她個人藝術實踐,康斯坦提諾也共同主導了 98B COLLABoratory(2012-2018)的計畫和活動,並且策劃、統籌了馬尼拉埃斯科塔第一聯合建築社區博物館的建成(2015-2018),此外,她也策劃了位於馬尼拉王城區的 Destileria Limtuaco博物館。

2018至2019 年間,康斯坦提諾獲頒亞洲文化協會的紐約獎學金。 2020 年 2 月,康斯坦提諾在西維薩亞斯創立了「KANTINA」—一個共學與共創的藝術空間。她目前在菲律賓的馬尼拉;以及卡皮茲省的羅薩斯城兩地工作、生活。

Marika Constantino is an artist who has participated in significant exhibitions in the Philippines and abroad. As an extension of her art practice, she works as an independent curator and researcher. She is also a freelance writer who has contributed to a number of globally distributed publications. Her early exposure to art and her boundless fascination for the creative process resulted in a degree from the UP College of Architecture to further studies at the UP College of Fine Arts, with Art History as her major. Her works are centered on patterns, layers, textures, and materials, and its intersection with history, memory and culture. Constantino is continually striving to strike the balance between the cerebral, conceptual and experiential aspects of art with life in general, thus, fueling her fervent passion for artistic endeavors. In 2017, she was selected to be one of the Global Cultural Fellows of the Institute of International Cultural Relations at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. That same year she was supported by the British Council, Manila to participate in a cultural leadership program at the King’s College in London, United Kingdom. Aside from her individual art practice, she co-directed the programs and activities of 98B COLLABoratory (2012-2018), curated and coordinated the undertakings of the First United Building Community Museum in Escolta, Manila (2015-2018) and curated the Destileria Limtuaco Museum in Intramuros, Manila. For 2018-2019 she was awarded the New York Fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council. In February 2020, Constantino founded KANTINA, an art space for co-learning and co-creation in the Western Visayas region. She is currently based in both Manila and Roxas City, Capiz in the Philippines.
